The Sanctuary of the Madonnina di Sala, located on the picturesque moraine hill of Serra, was built around a votive pillar featuring a 1494 fresco of the Annunciation by Gaspare da Ponderano. The church was expanded in stages from the 17th to 19th centuries. According to legend, in 1090, a miracle involving Spanish soldiers and the Virgin Mary led to the erection of the original pillar. Later, reported apparitions and miraculous events made the site a center of pilgrimage. Feast days are celebrated in May and July.
