The hermitage of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves in Gotarrendura, located to the west of the church of San Miguel Arcángel, was built in 1873 over a previous hermitage and stands out for its simple structure and its brick belfry that houses a small bell tower, similar to that of the church. Its interior houses the images of the Virgen de las Nieves, Santa Teresa de Jesús and San José, remaining an important site of devotion in the locality. Although 31 nearby houses burned during the great fire of 1929, the hermitage was unharmed. Every August 5th a mass is celebrated in honor of the Virgen de las Nieves, coinciding with Gotarrendura’s cultural week.
