The chapel of Santa Marina de Buspol, located in the town of Buspol in Grandas de Salime, is an outstanding example of popular religious architecture in the region and an important point on the Camino de Santiago. Built with slate masonry and a three-sided slab roof, it has a portal with attached benches and a wooden grille decorated with indigo paint and almazarrón.
The belfry houses one of the oldest bronze bells in Asturias, and inside is preserved a polychrome rustic altarpiece with images of Santa Marina, Santa Maria Magdalena and San Antonio. The chapel is located near a former pilgrims’ hospital, which today is integrated into the hamlet of Buspol.
