8th century cistern, navigable
Underground water reserve, it is the oldest Muslim construction safely dated in Israeli territory. The dating, in the time of the famous caliph Harun al Rashid, well-known protagonist of the Thousand and One Nights, was possible thanks to an inscription still visible on the wall.
The place also has its Christian tradition, as there is a tradition according to which the first excavation was carried out by Saint Helena, mother of the Emperor Constantine.
