The Monastery and Church of the Resurrection, in San Giovanni Rotondo, were founded through the inspiration of Padre Pio and Friar Daniele Natale. The cornerstone was laid in 1975 on land donated by Pietro Melillo, and community life began in 1987 with the union of two Capuchin Poor Clare communities (Moriondo and Ferrara). Built on rocky ground with sacrifice and faith, the convent flourished to 25 sisters before facing decline. In 2023, a renewal came with the arrival of eight young Mexican Capuchin sisters.
The monastery includes the Church of the Resurrection, its spiritual heart, and a large auditorium for gatherings and seminars. Located 700 meters high, it offers a sweeping landscape and a spirit of prayer and hope, deeply connected to the memory of Padre Pio.
