The hermitage of the Virgen de la Antigua de Herradón de Pinares, located on the outskirts of the village in the direction of Ávila, is a stone chapel dedicated to the Virgen de la Antigua, an invocation of the Virgin Mary. This Marian representation usually shows the Virgin with the Child Jesus and a white rose, and its cult has roots in the Middle Ages, with possible Castilian-Leonese origin. The Virgin of Antigua is also the patron saint of Panama and of the Diocese of Apartadó, and is considered a consummation of the Old Testament prophecies.
