Church of Saint Mary of All Graces

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace, founded in 1536 by the Capuchins with the support of noblewoman Andronica Del Balzo, is among Serracapriola’s most treasured religious sites. Rebuilt and consecrated in 1703, it served as a novitiate, seminary, and parish. Padre Pio studied theology here in 1907–1908. Inside, it holds notable artworks including a 1534 panel painting of the Madonna by Francesco da Tolentino and frescoes by Amedeo Trivisonno, depicting a miraculous intervention during a Turkish invasion. On July 2nd, pilgrims from Chieti and nearby towns honor the Virgin’s intercession. It was declared a sanctuary in 1971.
