The Ermita del Santísimo Cristo de Santa Teresa in Peñalba de Ávila is a small whitewashed ashlar construction, with corners reinforced by ashlars and a belfry. Although simple and without distinctive external features, it houses an image of Saint Teresa kneeling before a Crucified Christ, similar to the work of Gregorio Fernandez that shows the saint before Jesus. Located on a threshing floor on the outskirts of the village, it is part of one of the Teresian routes, and is believed to have been visited by St. Teresa during her founding trips.
