The Church of Madonna Addolorata, in Via Tripio, Guardiagrele, was built in 1733, possibly on the remains of a chapel destroyed in the 1706 earthquake. Its exterior is simple, with a stone portal and a square bell tower. The single-nave interior, in Baroque style, features a wooden coffered ceiling and paintings by Ferdinando Palmerio from the 19th century. It houses a pipe organ from 1880, a wooden altar, and statues of saints, including the Madonna Addolorata. In Contrada San Biase, a smaller chapel has a barrel-vaulted roof, an iron gate, and a stone watering trough.
