The Parish of Madonna della Divina Provvidenza in San Severo was founded in 1966 through the vision of young pastor Don Antonio Ceparano, who dreamed of a Marian sanctuary in one of the city’s poorest areas. Inspired by St. Luigi Orione and trust in Divine Providence, he spread devotion to Mary as Mother who cares for her children. Over the years, the parish grew with new pastoral works, an oratory, and strong community life, notably marked by Pope John Paul II’s visit in 1987. Today it remains a sign of faith and hope, embodying Italy’s devotion to Divine Providence, which calls believers to trust God’s loving care in daily life.
