The Capuchin Convent of Guardiagrele, in the province of Chieti, was founded in 1599 next to the suburban chapel of Santa Maria del Popolo. Its façade features a portico with three arches, behind which lies the 17th-century entrance portal, topped by a triangular pediment.
The main wooden altar has a tripartite structure with a broken pediment and four paintings, including the Immaculate among Angels and Saints, all dating back to the 17th century. In front of the altar stands a wood and ivory tabernacle, crafted in the early 18th century by the “marangoni”, renowned Capuchin woodcarvers. The furnishings also include a simple wooden pulpit and paintings by Nicola Ranieri. The small cloister, enclosed by arches on pillars, features a polygonal stone well at its center, made of Majella stone.
