The Church of San Nicola in Prata d’Ansidonia is a baroque-style reconstruction of a 12th-century church originally dedicated to the Madonna. Its single nave features deep lateral arches that simulate side aisles, guiding attention to the main altar and apse. Highlights include the limestone and red marble high altar, a finely crafted wooden entrance door from 1761 adorned with carvings of the Evangelists’ symbols, and the choir of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Sorrows, sculpted by local artist Sabatino Tarquini. The church also houses a significant Romanesque pulpit from 1240, originally from San Paolo in Peltuinum, adorned with acanthus leaf motifs, biblical inscriptions, and figures like Saint Paul and the apostles. Nearby, the Oratory of the Madonna del Rosario contains a 16th-century fresco of the Annunciation.
