Close to the port of ancient Yafo this Armenian monastic complex can be found. It is probably more than a thousand years old, and it’s dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of sailors. The building that stands today dates from the 17th century, and was built on the ruins of the original.

In this monastic complex, shelter was offered in the past to pilgrims who arrived at the port on their way to Jerusalem. It is currently under the jurisdiction of the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate, and is also used for commercial purposes. It continues to maintain a church and a hostel for pilgrims.
