The Church of Santa Maria di Babilone is located on the outskirts of Cavaglià (Piedmont), within the cemetery grounds, along the road to Santhià. It is a refined example of early Piedmontese Baroque and is especially notable for its unique elliptical floor plan. Historical records mention a previous church at this location as early as the 13th century, referred to in a 1440 document as ecclesia sanctae Mariae de Babilona.
The facade is clean and elegant, with white bands highlighting its curved exterior. A pronaos was added in the 18th century. The dome, crowned by a lantern, rests on a drum adorned with paired columns and wide windows. The single-nave interior includes radial chapels and houses a rare and precious 13th-century stucco group of the Adoration of the Magi.
