The church of San Juan Bautista, also known as San Juan de los Reyes, is a Romanesque temple from the 12th and 13th centuries in Arévalo, attached to the city wall. Its Mudejar tower, integrated into the defensive system, presents a structure in three bodies, with a balustraded gallery. Its single long nave, reformed in the 15th century and decorated with vaults and Baroque stucco in the 16th century, reflects the successive enlargements that the church has undergone over the centuries.
Inside, the Baroque altarpiece from the Jesuit church stands out with the central image of St. John the Baptist, a painting of St. Michael the Archangel in the upper part and sculptures of the Immaculate Conception on the sides. Among the works of art, the Gothic Christ and the Romanesque marble sculpture of Saint Zacharias, in the Burgundian style of the 12th century, stand out. In the chapel of Vera Lorenzana there are Baroque carvings dating from 1710, which together with other works form a set of great artistic and spiritual value.
