The Church of Sant Jaume de Pallerols is a building of great historical and architectural value located in the center of the village, surrounded by a landscaped square. Originally built in the 12th century, this parish church has undergone several modifications over the centuries. It has a rectangular floor plan with a single nave, covered by a barrel vault reinforced with toral arches. In its main façade there are two entrance portals, one with a semicircular arch and the other walled, which corresponded to the original entrance. Inside, there is an image of Sant Jaume with the attributes of a pilgrim, possibly dating from the eighteenth century.
The church is part of the pilgrimage circuit of the Camino de Santiago, and its history is documented since the 11th century, when it was ceded to the monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Over the years, it has been the object of pastoral visits and has witnessed the evolution of the village of Pallerols. Its rustic construction and the presence of baroque decorative elements in its interior make it an invaluable testimony of the history and religious tradition of the area.
