Collegiate church of St Agatha

The Collegiate Church of Saint Agatha is the parish church of Santhià (Vercelli), prominently located in Piazza Roma. It traces its roots to a 10th-century parish and was rebuilt in neoclassical style between 1836–1839 by architect Giuseppe Talucchi. The Romanesque bell tower and the 12th-century crypt of Saint Stephen remain from the earlier medieval structure. The interior features a renowned polyptych by Gerolamo Giovenone (1531), vibrant frescoes by Luigi Hartmann, and a grand Serassi pipe organ from 1861. The Romanesque crypt beneath the presbytery offers a rare glimpse into the early medieval sacred architecture of the region.
