The Parish Church of Saint Matthew the Apostle in Montenero di Bisaccia has origins dating back to the 11th century. Restored in the 13th century by Frederick II in Apulian Romanesque style, it was later transformed into Baroque forms in 1695 after Turkish damage. Due to structural instability, the church was demolished and rebuilt between 1937 and 1961. Today’s neo-Gothic-style church features a Latin cross layout, stained-glass windows, a squared façade, a semicircular apse, and a bell tower added in the 20th century.
