The Church of San Martín Obispo in Hernansancho was built at the end of the 15th century or beginning of the 16th century and dedicated to San Martín de Tours. Originally, it had a single nave with a wooden frame and a tribune at the foot. Later, towards the end of the 16th century, two lateral naves were added by means of semicircular arches. In the 18th century, the chevet and transept were covered with Baroque vaults and domes.
The temple has a simple structure, of sober masonry, with a slender belfry of masonry topped in brick. The entrance has a voussoir door of ashlar masonry, decorated with the characteristic pearls of Avila. In the atrium, a granite cross rests on a large base with barely legible inscriptions due to wear and tear.
