Sanctuary of Graglia

The Sanctuary of Graglia, nestled in the pre-Alpine hills of Biella, was initially envisioned in 1615 by priest Andrea Velotti as a “New Jerusalem” with 100 devotional chapels. Though the original plan was not completed, it evolved into a grand Marian sanctuary, supported by the House of Savoy and constructed between 1654 and 1769. Designed by architect Bernardo Vittone, it features a majestic dome, rich Baroque interiors, chapels with terracotta statues, and a replica of the Holy House of Loreto. It remains a key pilgrimage site today.
